The correct camera setting is of course the be-all and end-all for a great shot. With a few small tips, even a layman can quickly take a beautiful picture: You can capture the play of autumn leaves in the wind beautifully with a long exposure. If you find a particularly beautiful autumn leaf, place it on a calm background that provides contrast. For example, on a gravel path, a lush green meadow or a carpet of leaves in a different colour. With such individual leaves, it is also worth getting really close to the motif. This can also be done well with a smartphone using the close-up motif programmes. If you are equipped with a camera, you can set a long focal length and also use the macro lens. As even the slightest movement of the camera will take the leaf out of focus in these shots, it is advisable to take a small tripod with you.

Particularly beautiful pictures are also created when you can photograph a leaf against the light. This shows the leaf veins and the different colours from their best side. If, for example, you want to photograph the shiny dewdrops on grasses and let the foreground and background sink into a beautiful blur, set a long focal length and a large aperture. Remember to always take several shots of all subjects and set the camera to RAW. This way you can take your time at home to define your best pictures and optimise the colours if necessary.
